DOOM The Dark Ages - NemolitioN x Overclockers UK
Rip and tear, until it is done. As a huge fan of the DOOM Franchise, I was lucky enough to build a 1 of 1 DOOM themed PC with Overclockers UK to celebrate the launch of The Dark Ages DLC. Not only is this an incredible PC that is DOOM Slayer worthy, but it is also filled to the brim with easter eggs and nods to the game. I’m fortunate to have such a great amount of support from such a great team to make this happen!

I had been conjuring up this idea since HAVN first announced the DOOM Edition of the HS420. I just knew I had to get my hands on it. Every part of this was meticulously designed and parts were carefully chosen to allow for the right customisation. The fans and radiators are green and silver themed to match both the case and the armour of the DOOM Slayer and the completely bespoke distro features the DOOM Slayers shield with a flow meter behind to represent saw blade. The runes on the distro may or may not bear a hidden message. I wonder what it could be?

DOOM isn’t just a great game, it’s a huge part of my growing up. Officially, it was the first game I ever played. I was 2 and put in front of a DOS version of the game. Those walls has absolutely no chance against me either shooting them or running head first into them - I’ve not gotten much better since. It is also the inspiration for my “NemolitioN” logo and the odd references to DOOM are usually dotted around me such as one of the first songs I wrote being called “Knee Deep in the Dead” - Metal AF. Hopefully you don’t find the demo on Soundcloud and judge me!
Once this build was completed, I threw on a very good PBO2 overclock on the CPU, tweaked the RAM to get some better latency and of course it wouldn’t be complete without a graphics overclock too. Needless to say, the first game this played was in fact DOOM The Dark Ages. Check out below for some more of BTS of the build process.
So… What’s next? I’ve learnt a lot during this process and I’ve been thinking of other builds I’d love to bring to life. I just know I’m going to love the next project just as much as this one and I will also be just as sad to see the next one go too.
